Recognize your loved one this Mother’s Day
Honor your loved one this Mother’s Day with a gift that recognizes unshakable love, commitment, trust and perseverance.
The NTC Foundation offers you a special opportunity to dedicate a beautiful rosebush in the Sybil Stockdale Rose Garden at NTC Promenade in the heart of the new cultural district at Liberty Station…a new destination that itself is blooming into a San Diego landmark.
A commemorative plaque with your personal message will be implanted adjacent to your designated rosebush. This is a limited opportunity with only 110 tribute rosebushes available. Your donation $500 to the NTC Foundation will be used to help preserve the historic buildings at the former Naval Training Center and their new mission as a cultural center.
To assure your lasting tribute is placed in this special garden, please click here to purchase your rosebush and inscribe your recognition plaque. Contact the NTC Foundation at 619-573-9260 with any questions or to schedule a tour of NTC Promenade and the Sybil Stockdale Rose Garden.
A Tribute to our American Heroes:
VADM James B. & Sybil Stockdale and Family
Join the NTC Foundation, as we celebrate the lives and share the accomplishments of VADM James B. and Sybil Stockdale, while giving our community visitors a special way to remember the history of NTC and create a legacy for San Diego to enjoy for generations.
As a destination that honors the region’s Navy heritage and showcases innovation and creativity, NTC Promenade is a fitting home to celebrate the lives of a courageous American couple – Vice Admiral James B. & Sybil Stockdale – with a special tribute at the landmark NTC Command Center building.
“In our nation’s history, there are people whose courage and service are an inspiration to all –
VADM Jim Stockdale and his courageous wife, Sybil, are two such Americans.”
–Ross Perot, National Honorary Chair, NTC Foundation Stockdale Initiative
Under the leadership of NTC Board member RADM Fran Holian, USN (ret.), a Point Loma resident and former “Navy Mayor” of San Diego, we launched the VADM James B. & Sybil Stockdale Tribute Campaign at NTC, so their story can be an inspiration for generations to come.
On October 8, 2007, the NTC Foundation dedicated the VADM James B. Stockdale Board Room – a gift from Northrop Grumman; the Sybil Stockdale Rose Garden in honor of Navy Families – a gift from North Island Credit Union; and the Stockdale Family Exhibit – a gift from the County of San Diego at the recommendation of Supervisor Greg Cox.
The campaign funds help renovate and operate the former Naval Training Center Commanding Officer’s Headquarters in its new mission as The NTC Command Center—a conference and visitor’s center, and “Gateway to NTC Promenade.” Thanks to our community, we are over 25% of the way to our goal.
